A referral is not required for our examinations. However, if you have a referral from your GP, the consultation will be fully covered by your health insurance (without a deductible or co-payment).

Most tests take about 30 minutes. Please note that we may dilate your pupils, which means you will not be allowed to drive immediately.

An orthoptic examination focuses on the coordination of both eyes and is suitable for conditions such as strabismus, double vision, or lazy eye (especially in children). An optometric examination focuses more on general eye health, refractive measurements, and screening for conditions such as glaucoma or macular degeneration.

A fundus photo of the retina will be taken to check for diabetic retinopathy. This is an early indication of damage to the eye caused by diabetes. If there are any abnormalities, we will refer you promptly to prevent complications.

During a CBR inspection, we check your visual acuity and eye health, among other things. These measurements are required to assess your safety in traffic.
