Macular degeneration screening focuses on assessing the health of the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for sharp and detailed vision. Age-related macular degeneration (MD) can gradually affect central vision and make tasks such as reading and recognising faces more difficult. The latter, the dry variant, mainly occurs in people aged 55 and over, smokers and people with a hereditary predisposition to macular degeneration. The wet variant can often develop acutely. Our MD examination focuses on early detection, an accurate diagnosis and timely treatment in order to preserve central vision and safeguard quality of life.
